Where it came from
Search for Glory was released as part of the Kaldheim set in early 2021, drawing heavy inspiration from the aesthetic and thematic motifs of Norse mythology. Designed as a rare sorcery, the card was crafted to capture the essence of a heroic quest, allowing players to search their library for legendary cards to represent the discovery of artifacts, creatures, or planeswalkers.
The artwork, illustrated by Magali Villeneuve, depicts a majestic, ethereal scene consistent with the high-fantasy visual language Wizards of the Coast established for the plane of Kaldheim. Upon its release, the card received favorable attention from players for its versatility in Commander and other casual formats, solidifying its place as a staple for deck builders focused on legendary-themed strategies.
