Siege Striker

Siege Striker was released in the Core Set 2021 expansion for Magic: The Gathering, a set designed to serve as a foundational entry point for new players while providing thematic bridges between various planes of the multiverse. As a red-aligned creature, it emphasizes the aggressive, combat-focused philosophy of its color, utilizing a triggered ability that rewards the player for attacking with multiple creatures. Its inclusion in the core set reflects a design philosophy of providing reliable, efficient tools for Limited play environments.

The card’s illustration was crafted by artist Bram Sels, who focused on capturing the visceral, kinetic energy of a frontline warrior. Sels chose a dynamic, low-angle perspective to emphasize the imposing stature of the soldier, framing the character within the chaotic heat of battle. Upon its release, the card was generally viewed by the community as a functional, solid addition to aggressive red decks, favored for its ability to pressure opponents during the mid-game phase of play.
