Silverquill Command

Silverquill Command was introduced as part of the Strixhaven: School of Mages set in 2021, representing the white and black mana color identity of the Silverquill college at the Strixhaven University of Magic. Within the game's lore, Silverquill is defined by its focus on eloquence, ink-based magic, and the power of the written or spoken word, serving as a hub for poets, orators, and tactical manipulators. This specific card was designed as a modal spell, offering players the flexibility to choose two effects from a list of four, which mechanically mirrors the versatility required of the students within this magical institution.

The promotional version, designated 232p, features distinct alternate art that highlights the aesthetic of the college. The artistic direction for Silverquill emphasizes high-contrast, monochrome-adjacent imagery, often incorporating calligraphic flourishes and sharp, ink-like shadows to evoke a sense of scholarly prestige combined with lethal intent. Upon its release, the card was well-received by players for its efficiency and thematic cohesion, quickly becoming a staple in various Commander and constructed formats where players value utility and strategic adaptability.
