What it does
When this creature dies, you may exile it and put three time counters on it. If you do, exile up to one target creature and put three time counters on it. Each card exiled this way that doesn't have suspend gains suspend. (For each card with suspend, its owner removes a time counter from it at the beginning of their upkeep. When the last is removed, they may cast it without paying its mana cost. Those creature spells have haste.)

Where it came from
Sinister Concierge was released in 2022 as part of the Streets of New Capenna Commander set, a collection themed around the art deco aesthetics and noir-inspired organized crime syndicates of a fantastical metropolis. The card fits into the broader narrative of the plane, which draws heavily from 1920s architecture and the trope-heavy world of mobsters, corruption, and jazz-age decadence.
The art was illustrated by Johannes Voss, whose work on the card emphasizes the ominous and bureaucratic nature of the role within the city's hierarchy. In the context of the game, the design reflects the mechanics of board control, forcing players to reckon with the slow, deliberate influence of the concierge. It was well-received by players for its flavorful integration of character-driven design within the strategic framework of the commander format.
