Snow-Covered Mountain

Snow-Covered Mountain, numbered 119 in the Mystery Booster 2 set, represents the continuation of a long-standing tradition within Magic: The Gathering of utilizing special basic land cards to provide both functional utility and thematic atmosphere. The Mystery Booster 2 set was designed by Wizards of the Coast as a celebration of the game's expansive history, curating a diverse play experience that bridges multiple eras of card design and mechanical experimentation.

The artwork featured on this card is part of a storied lineage of snow-themed environments that first gained mechanical prominence in the Ice Age block. Designers typically select these landscapes to evoke a sense of isolation and geological stillness, using high-contrast color palettes to distinguish them from standard mountain cards. While the specific illustrator for this reprint maintains the style established for the set's aesthetic cohesion, the card itself serves as a functional nod to the enduring popularity of snow-synergy decks among long-term players.
