Sojourner's Companion // Sojourner's Companion

The Sojourner's Companion card is part of the Modern Horizons 2 Art Series, a specialized subset released by Wizards of the Coast in 2021. This set was designed to celebrate the intricate illustrations featured in the Modern Horizons 2 expansion, offering collectors high-quality, borderless prints of the game's creature and spell artwork. The series functions as a showcase for the visual narrative of the Magic: The Gathering multiverse, highlighting the work of digital artists who contribute to the game's expansive aesthetic.

This specific piece features the art of Bryan Sola, who was commissioned to illustrate the Sojourner's Companion, a Construct creature with a distinct, weathered mechanical design. Sola sought to convey a sense of rugged endurance through the creature's rusted textures and intricate modular armor. Within the collector community, these Art Series cards are noted for their clean presentation and the inclusion of the artist's signature on the face of the card, providing a more focused look at the world-building elements often obscured by text boxes in standard gameplay versions.
