Where it came from
Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord was introduced as a mythic rare planeswalker in the 2019 Core Set for Magic: The Gathering, specifically designed to revitalize tribal support for Vampire decks. The character of Sorin Markov, a central figure in the game's lore as an ancient vampire lord of the plane of Innistrad, necessitated a card that balanced aggressive battlefield presence with the gothic aesthetic typical of the set.
The 115s collector number variant represents the promotional version of the card, often distributed through specialized events or promotional kits. The artwork, crafted to emphasize Sorin's stoic and commanding nature, was received positively by players for both its visual impact and its mechanical efficiency, cementing the card as a staple in various competitive and casual formats focusing on vampire synergy.
