Soul-Guide Gryff

Soul-Guide Gryff was originally introduced in the Shadows over Innistrad expansion as a common-rarity creature card, designed to fit the gothic horror flavor of the plane. It represents the benevolent spirits of Innistrad that patrol the skies, offering a balance between flying utility and graveyard interaction. Its inclusion in Innistrad Remastered serves to curate the most iconic and mechanically representative cards from the block into a single, cohesive drafting experience, highlighting the set's focus on creature-based synergies and graveyard-themed mechanics.

The art and design philosophy for the Gryff line focus on the ethereal aesthetic characteristic of Innistrad's spirit creatures, often featuring flowing, ghostly forms that reflect their protective nature. Artists commissioned for the series typically emphasize soft, luminescent tones against the dark, moody landscapes of the setting. Upon its release, the card was well-received by limited format players for its efficient mana cost and its dual functionality as an evasive threat and a tool for disrupting opponent strategies that rely on the graveyard.
