Stockpiling Celebrant

Stockpiling Celebrant is a common creature card featured in the Wilds of Eldraine expansion set, released by Wizards of the Coast in September 2023. As part of a block designed to evoke the whimsical and often perilous atmosphere of classic fairy tales, the card draws upon the lore of Eldraine’s high fantasy setting. Its inclusion in the set reflects the design team's goal of integrating 'adventure' mechanics with the theme of resource management, characterizing the Celebrant as a figure engaged in the preparation for the set's central narrative conflicts.

The card’s visual direction was handled by illustrator Justine Cruz, who sought to capture a sense of organized chaos within the rustic, magical architecture of the realm. The artwork depicts a busy character surrounded by supplies, emphasizing the 'stockpiling' aspect of the card's function. Upon release, it was received as a functional utility piece for Limited formats, noted by players for its ability to provide incremental value by returning permanents to the hand, a mechanic that rewards thoughtful sequencing and resource preservation.
