Sunstar Chaplain

The Sunstar Chaplain was released as a promotional card for the Edge of Eternities expansion, designed to serve as a bridge between the set's primary narrative themes and its organized play initiatives. It was distributed through official hobby store events, intended to provide players with a unique, foil-etched iteration of a card that emphasized the set's core 'light-aligned' mechanics. The artwork, created by a studio illustrator under the direction of the game's lead creative team, was designed to evoke a sense of serene authority, utilizing soft color palettes to differentiate it from the more aggressive combat-oriented cards prevalent in the expansion.

Upon its introduction, the card was received primarily as a collector's curiosity rather than a meta-defining piece of competitive gear. Enthusiasts of the Edge of Eternities series noted the high quality of the card's foiling process, which helped it become a staple for those curating visual-themed binders. While it did not drastically alter the landscape of the game's competitive formats, its scarcity as a promo item ensured it remained a respected inclusion in community trading circles, representative of the promotional strategies employed during the late lifecycle of the expansion set.
