Where it came from
The Sunstar Expansionist was released as part of the Edge of Eternities expansion, a set centered on themes of cosmic expansion and the tension between celestial factions. It was designed to function as a key utility piece within the game's mechanics, intended to reward players for controlling specific board regions through a unique resource-taxing ability.
The card's artwork, commissioned from a digital illustrator specializing in high-fantasy sci-fi, focuses on a stoic, armored figure posed against a backdrop of nebular light. It was received by the community as a technically proficient but polarizing addition to the meta, with players noting its distinct visual departure from the darker, grittier aesthetics that defined the core set.
