Where it came from
Susur Secundi, Void Altar, cataloged as 259p, was released as a promotional card for the Edge of Eternities expansion. It was designed to serve as a high-rarity centerpiece for collectors, intended to showcase the thematic shift toward eldritch, cosmic horror aesthetics that defined the set's narrative arc regarding the thinning of dimensional boundaries.
The illustration was rendered by a lead staff artist at the studio, who utilized heavy contrast and negative space to evoke a sense of profound isolation. Upon its release, the card was received with interest by the player base for its unconventional visual direction, quickly becoming a sought-after piece for those focused on the game's evolving artistic history rather than purely mechanical utility.
