What it does
Instant, sorcery, and Dragon spells you control can't be countered.
Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell from your hand, if Taigam attacked this turn, that spell gains rebound. (Exile the spell as it resolves. At the beginning of your next upkeep, you may cast that card from exile without paying its mana cost.)

Where it came from
Taigam, Ojutai Master was released in 2017 as part of the Commander 2017 expansion, specifically within the Arcane Wizardry deck. The character represents a pivotal figure from the alternate timeline of Tarkir, where he serves as a high-ranking monk under the dragonlord Ojutai. This card was designed to highlight Taigam's mastery over both rebound and spell manipulation, mechanics that reflect his transition from a forbidden magic practitioner to a disciplined scholar of the Ojutai brood.
The card illustration was created by artist Magali Villeneuve, who sought to capture the stoic, meditative aesthetic of the Ojutai dragonslayers. Her rendering emphasizes the calm precision of the character through cool tones and architectural elements reminiscent of the dragon-temple style. The card was well-received by the Commander community for its strategic depth, offering a unique playstyle that rewards players for casting spells during their own turn to maximize efficiency in later rounds.
