What it does
When this creature enters, target opponent reveals X cards from their hand, where X is the number of Goblins you control. You choose one of those cards. That player exiles it. If an instant or sorcery card is exiled this way, you may cast it for as long as you control this creature, and mana of any type can be spent to cast that spell.

Where it came from
Taster of Wares was released as part of the Lorwyn Eclipsed Promos, a special subset of cards issued during the 2007 Lorwyn expansion for Magic: The Gathering. These cards were distributed primarily through organized play events and promotional initiatives, designed to showcase the set's focus on creature types like faeries and kithkin, as well as the newly introduced planeswalker cards.
The artwork for this card reflects the distinct, folklore-inspired visual identity of the Lorwyn plane, which sought to differentiate itself from the high-fantasy aesthetic of previous sets. The design emphasizes a whimsical yet slightly sinister tone, consistent with the set's underlying narrative of a world undergoing a transformative shift known as the Great Aurora.
