Tatsunari, Toad Rider // Tatsunari, Toad Rider

Tatsunari, Toad Rider was released as part of the Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Art Series in 2022. This set served as a retrospective of the card game's return to the fan-favorite Kamigawa plane, reimagined through a futuristic, cyberpunk-inspired lens. The Art Series cards were designed specifically for collectors, featuring high-resolution, borderless prints of the original card illustrations on the front, with the game mechanics removed to emphasize the aesthetic quality of the artwork.

The original illustration for Tatsunari was created by artist Yongjae Choi, who focused on blending the character's traditional Toad Rider iconography with the neon-drenched, high-tech atmosphere of the set. The design draws from Japanese folklore, reimagined within the 'tech-noir' aesthetic that defines Neon Dynasty. Upon release, the card was well-received by players and art enthusiasts alike for its vibrant use of color and the distinct narrative depth it brought to the set's expanded roster of legendary creatures.
