Temple of Silence

Temple of Silence was first introduced as part of the Theros block in 2013, designed as part of a cycle of lands that help players manage their mana resources by providing two colors while allowing for a strategic look at the top card of their library. The card was reimagined for the Core Set 2020, serving as a staple utility piece that encourages tactical decision-making early in a game. This specific version, numbered 256p, was issued as a promotional foil card, often distributed through game store events to reward players for their participation in the Magic: The Gathering community.

The artwork for this iteration was created by Dimitar Marinski, who utilized a distinct, ethereal aesthetic to convey the quiet, sacred nature of the location. His design focuses on muted tones and architectural grandeur to evoke a sense of calm isolation, fitting for a card that rewards patience and careful planning. The promo version is noted among collectors for its premium foil treatment, which enhances the intricate lighting effects in the illustration, marking it as a visually sought-after variant within the Core Set 2020 collection.
