What it does
Put target creature or land on top of its owner's library.
As the temporal fractures spread and time itself slowly fell apart, visitors started to appear from across the past and future, and those native to the present began to disappear.

Where it came from
Temporal Eddy was released in 2006 as part of the Time Spiral set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. The set was designed to lean heavily into the game's history, featuring a 'time-shifted' theme that explored how past mechanics and lore might interact with the contemporary game state. The card itself represents the chaotic, non-linear nature of time travel that served as the central narrative arc for the set.
The artwork for the card was illustrated by Dave Dorman, a celebrated fantasy and science fiction artist known for his work on the Star Wars franchise. His approach for this piece captured the surreal and distorted aesthetic of a time rift, utilizing a dark, textured palette to evoke a sense of displacement. Within the game, the card saw moderate usage in casual formats, appreciated by players for its flavorful connection to the set's broader motif of chronological instability.
