Provenance

Where it came from

The Tender Wildguide card was released as part of the Bloomburrow set in 2024, specifically appearing in the promotional card series. The set drew inspiration from cottagecore aesthetics and anthropomorphic animal folklore, departing from the typical high-fantasy tone of Magic: The Gathering to explore a pastoral, whimsical world inhabited by small forest creatures.

The artwork for this card was created by illustrator Anna Steinbauer, who utilized a soft, naturalistic color palette to align with the set's cozy, woodland theme. The design emphasizes the connection between the character and the environment, focusing on the intricate textures of the fur and flora to evoke a sense of quiet discovery that defined the visual identity of the Bloomburrow release.
