Tendo Ice Bridge

Tendo Ice Bridge was originally introduced in the Betrayers of Kamigawa expansion in 2005, designed as a unique utility land that provided flexible mana access for multicolor decks. Its mechanic, which relies on a charge counter to produce any color of mana, reflected the tactical focus of the Kamigawa block on permanence and subtle resource management. The card was created to offer players a non-basic land option that could support aggressive drafting and deck-building strategies without the long-term drawback of enters-the-battlefield tapped effects.

The version from Modern Horizons 3 Commander, numbered 393, features updated border treatments consistent with contemporary card frames. The design emphasizes the card's function as a temporary but powerful mana bridge, a staple of the Kamigawa aesthetic that blends traditional Japanese motifs with the high-fantasy elements of Magic: The Gathering. While the card is a functional reprint, its inclusion in the Commander set served to increase accessibility for players seeking color-fixing options in the popular multiplayer format.
