You lose X life and create X tapped Powerstone tokens. Then all creatures get -1/-1 until end of turn for each artifact you control. (The tokens are artifacts with "tap: Add colorless mana. This mana can't be spent to cast a nonartifact spell.")

Where it came from
Terisiare's Devastation was released in 2022 as part of The Brothers' War Commander set for Magic: The Gathering. The card draws its thematic inspiration from the apocalyptic conclusion of the conflict between the brothers Urza and Mishra, which left the continent of Terisiare in ruins. It was designed to mechanically represent the cataclysmic environmental and structural collapse of the land as depicted in the game's long-running lore.
The artwork was commissioned to illustrate the sheer scale of destruction during this historical turning point in the setting. Artists working within the Brothers' War expansion were tasked with capturing the shift from magi-technical wonder to scorched wasteland. Upon its release, the card was received as a functional addition to Commander decks utilizing red-aligned strategies, noted for its ability to clear the board while providing a sense of historical narrative weight.
