Teval, Arbiter of Virtue // Teval, Arbiter of Virtue

Teval, Arbiter of Virtue is part of the Art Series released within the Tarkir: Dragonstorm expansion for Magic: The Gathering. These cards were introduced as a specialized collectible, focusing exclusively on the visual storytelling of the game rather than traditional gameplay utility. By removing card frames and text, the series allows the artwork to serve as the primary focus, documenting the aesthetic evolution of the plane of Tarkir as it reconciles its draconic and human histories.

The piece was commissioned to showcase the intricate character design and world-building characteristic of the setting. The illustration emphasizes themes of authority and moral rigidity, utilizing a high-fantasy palette and detailed armor motifs consistent with the Tarkir aesthetic. Upon release, these cards were well-received by collectors who prioritize the artistic contributions of the game's illustrators, functioning as high-quality prints for fans of the franchise’s visual identity.
