Where it came from
The Chain Veil was originally released in the 2014 Magic: The Gathering set Magic 2015, representing a powerful and malevolent artifact from the game's lore associated with the planeswalker Liliana Vess. It was designed as a legendary artifact that allows players to activate planeswalker abilities additional times, reflecting its narrative role as a cursed object that grants immense power at a significant personal cost to its wielder.
The specific version released in Commander Masters, numbered 943, serves as a borderless reprint of the original card. This iteration features updated, stylized artwork consistent with the aesthetic direction of the Commander Masters set, which sought to bring high-profile, mechanically significant reprints to a new visual format for dedicated players of the Commander variant.
