The Fair Basilica // The Fair Basilica

The Fair Basilica art card is part of the Phyrexia: All Will Be One Art Series, released by Wizards of the Coast in 2023. These cards were designed to highlight the high-fantasy aesthetic of the Phyrexian plane, serving as a standalone collector's piece that omits the standard card game frame to showcase the full-bleed illustration. This specific artwork depicts the sterile, imposing architecture of the white-aligned faction within the Phyrexian hierarchy, reflecting the expansion's core theme of forced perfection and industrial beauty.

The illustration was created by artist Titus Lunter, a frequent contributor to Magic: The Gathering. Lunter aimed to capture the cold, symmetrical grandeur of the Basilica, utilizing clean lines and a restricted color palette to convey the unsettling serenity of New Phyrexia. Upon its release, the card was well-received by fans of the game's lore, who valued it as a tangible piece of world-building that elevated the card game’s aesthetic beyond its functional gameplay roots.
