Thermo-Alchemist

Thermo-Alchemist was originally printed in the 2016 Magic: The Gathering expansion set Eldritch Moon. Designed as an uncommon creature, the card draws its thematic inspiration from the gothic horror setting of Innistrad, specifically focusing on the intersection of dark alchemy and chaotic magic. The art, illustrated by Dan Dos Santos, depicts a pyromantic alchemist amidst the transformed landscape of the plane, perfectly capturing the high-stakes, spell-heavy environment of the set's mechanical identity.

Upon its release, the card quickly became a staple in various constructed formats, particularly those favoring 'spellslinger' archetypes. By allowing players to ping opponents for damage whenever they cast an instant or sorcery, it rewarded efficient deck-building and strategic sequencing. The card has since been reprinted in The List, a curated selection of reprints integrated into modern booster packs, ensuring its continued availability for players looking to incorporate this reliable damage engine into their decks.
