Time Warp // Time Warp

Time Warp originated as a rare card in the Tempest expansion of Magic: The Gathering in 1997, designed as a classic extra-turn spell that captured the chaotic, time-bending flavor of blue magic. The Strixhaven Art Series version, released in 2021, features the card's mechanics printed on the back, while the front showcases an oversized, borderless print of the artwork. This particular iteration celebrates the academic and mystical aesthetic of the Strixhaven University setting, emphasizing the visual storytelling of the game's rich history.

The artwork for this specific card was illustrated by Johannes Voss, a long-time contributor to the game known for his expressive, ethereal style. Voss intended to convey the fluidity and distortion of chronological progression, using swirling, magical motifs to ground the abstract concept of time manipulation. Upon its release within the Strixhaven product line, the art series was well-received by collectors who sought to appreciate the game's expansive visual library as a standalone gallery of fantasy art.
