Strategic Planning // Strategic Planning

Strategic Planning was released in 2021 as part of the Strixhaven Art Series, a collection of cards featuring enlarged, borderless illustrations from the Strixhaven: School of Mages expansion for Magic: The Gathering. These cards were specifically produced as collectible art pieces rather than tournament-legal game cards, often found in the Set Boosters of the era to showcase the thematic aesthetics of the set's five magical colleges.

The artwork for this specific card was commissioned from the illustrator Magali Villeneuve. Her design leans into the academic and arcane atmosphere of Strixhaven, emphasizing the intellectual pursuit of knowledge through a visual language of books, scrolls, and scholarly contemplation. Upon release, these art cards were well-received by collectors for their clean, high-quality presentation of the digital paintings, providing a dedicated format to appreciate the intricate details that are often obscured on smaller, standard-sized playing cards.
