Tom van de Logt Decklist (2000)

The Tom van de Logt decklist represents the official reproduction of the deck used by the Dutch player during the 2000 Magic: The Gathering World Championships in Brussels. These World Championship Decks were released by Wizards of the Coast as a way for players to experience the high-level tournament metagame, providing a fixed, non-randomized collection of cards that replicated the exact 60-card main deck and 15-card sideboard of the finalists.

The deck itself features a 'Rebel' strategy, which relies on the Recruit mechanic from the Mercadian Masques block to pull creatures directly from the library into play. This design reflected the intense competitive environment of the turn of the millennium, where search-heavy tribal synergies dominated tournament play. While the cards in these sets featured unique gold-bordered backs and signatures on the face to ensure they remained ineligible for official sanctioned tournament play, they are highly regarded by collectors for their historical snapshot of professional card game design and the specific legacy of the World Championship series.
