Tome of Legends

Tome of Legends was originally introduced as a mythic rare artifact in the Throne of Eldraine expansion, released by Wizards of the Coast in 2019. Designed to capture the whimsical and fairy-tale aesthetic of the set, the card functions as an iterative resource engine that gains pages each time a creature enters the battlefield or attacks, reflecting the concept of a growing chronicle. It was created to provide a versatile utility card that rewards players for maintaining board presence throughout the duration of a game.

The card was later included in The List, a curated selection of cards from throughout Magic: The Gathering's history that can occasionally appear in Set Boosters. This inclusion allowed players to pull older or thematic cards like the Tome outside of their original print runs. The design, featuring art that emphasizes the magical, leather-bound nature of a legendary artifact, was well-received for its balanced utility in both casual Commander formats and competitive limited play.
