Where it came from
Training Center was originally introduced in the Commander Legends set in 2020 as part of a cycle of allied-color 'crowd lands' designed specifically for the Commander multiplayer format. These lands were engineered to provide efficient mana fixing in games with three or more players, offering a strategic incentive that rewards the social nature of the game by entering untapped when opponents are present.
The Commander Masters version, released in 2023, features a refined aesthetic typical of the set's premium, retrospective approach to iconic multiplayer cards. The illustration captures the essence of a tactical sparring ground, emphasizing the theme of preparation and collective growth that defines the card's function, and it has been widely received by players as an essential inclusion for Blue-Red decks seeking reliable mana acceleration.
