Where it came from
Victory's Herald was originally printed in the Magic: The Gathering expansion Scars of Mirrodin in 2010. It represents the faction of the Mirrans, the organic inhabitants of the metallic world of Mirrodin, who were struggling against the corrupting influence of the Phyrexians. The card was designed as a rare creature that embodied the desperate hope and tactical aerial support required by the Mirran resistance during the set's central conflict.
The artwork for the card was created by artist Igor Kieryluk, who focused on the ethereal and angelic aesthetic characteristic of white-aligned creatures in the game.
