Where it came from
Viewpoint Synchronization was released as part of the Magic: The Gathering 'Universes Beyond: Assassin's Creed' set, which debuted in mid-2024. This collaboration integrated the iconic historical settings and stealth-based mechanics of the Ubisoft franchise into the mechanics of the collectible card game, designed to represent the act of scouting locations from high vantage points to reveal the surrounding map.
The card’s design features art by Randy Vargas, who focused on capturing the silhouette of an Assassin perched atop a classic architectural structure, echoing the series' signature 'Leap of Faith' cinematics. The mechanical design of the card emphasizes card advantage and deck manipulation, intended to mimic the strategic foresight gained by the protagonist after synchronizing with a viewpoint in the video games.
