Provenance

Where it came from

The Vizier of the Menagerie was originally printed in the 2017 set Amonkhet, designed to provide card advantage and mana flexibility for green creature-based strategies. Its popularity in various formats, particularly Commander, led to its selection for the Secret Lair series, a line of premium, alternate-art releases intended for collectors seeking visually distinct versions of staples.

This specific iteration, numbered 1100, features stylized, painterly artwork by artist Magali Villeneuve. Known for her expressive character work in the Magic: The Gathering universe, Villeneuve crafted this piece to emphasize the mystical, harmonious connection between the vizier and the exotic creatures of the desert plane, moving away from the more rigid, traditional aesthetic of the original printing.
