Void Mirror

Void Mirror was introduced in the 2021 expansion Modern Horizons 2, a set designed specifically to inject cards directly into the Modern format without them passing through a Standard-legal release. The card serves as a targeted technical piece intended to disrupt strategies that rely on casting spells without paying their mana costs, such as suspend or cascade mechanics, by forcing those spells to be countered if they were not cast using colored mana.

The artwork for the piece was created by artist Titus Lunter, who captured the card's function through a stark, ethereal aesthetic. The visual design emphasizes a reflective, otherworldly surface that stands in contrast to the rigid, colorless nature of the Eldrazi-themed flavor often associated with such effects. Upon its release, it was received as a versatile sideboard tool, valued by players for its ability to enforce mana-consistency requirements across various competitive play environments.
