Wind Dancer

Wind Dancer was first released in the Seventh Edition core set of Magic: The Gathering, which was published by Wizards of the Coast in 2001. As a core set, Seventh Edition functioned as a gateway for new players, featuring a mix of reprints that defined the foundational mechanics and flavor of the game at the turn of the millennium. The card serves as a representative example of the blue color identity, focusing on evasion and utility within the game's evolving tactical landscape.

The artwork for this particular printing was created by artist Heather Hudson. Hudson, a prolific contributor to the early Magic: The Gathering aesthetic, sought to capture the ethereal and fluid nature of the creature, aligning with the card's ability to grant flying to other units. Upon its release, the card was received as a solid inclusion for limited play formats, noted for its consistent utility in deck building during the transition into the modern era of the game.
