Where it came from
Windcrag Siege is a rare promotional variant released as part of the Tarkir: Dragonstorm promotional series in 2015. It was distributed during the Magic: The Gathering 'Dragons of Tarkir' prerelease events, serving as a specialized iteration of the original enchantment card designed to highlight the set's focus on the dragon-centric lore of the Tarkir plane.
The card features distinct, high-impact artwork commissioned specifically for this promotional run to capture the dramatic scale of the shifting timelines in the Tarkir narrative. It was designed to function as a strategic choice for players, emphasizing the choice between the 'Khans' and 'Dragons' modes of play, and remains a sought-after piece for collectors focused on the unique aesthetics of the mid-2010s promotional cards.
