Windriddle Palaces

Windriddle Palaces debuted as part of the Planechase Anthology, a 2016 compilation that gathered decks and cards from the previous Planechase releases. These oversized cards represent the various locales within the multiverse where players navigate during the game, offering unique global effects that shift as the game progresses. This particular card draws from the chaotic, shifting nature of the Alara shard of Grixis, reflecting the thematic emphasis on necromancy and resource depletion.

The artwork for this card was commissioned to evoke a sense of decaying grandeur, aligning with the dark, jagged aesthetic of the Grixis plane. Like other cards in the Planechase series, the design focuses on tactical utility through 'planar chaos' mechanics. Upon its release, the card was received as a flavorful addition to the multiplayer experience, appreciated by players who enjoy the thematic depth that the supplemental Planechase format brings to standard play.
