Windswept Heath

Windswept Heath was originally released as a rare land in the 2002 Magic: The Gathering set Onslaught. The card quickly became a staple in competitive play due to its ability to fetch specific land types, providing essential color fixing for decks. The World Championship Decks 2004 version featuring the collector number jn328 was included in the commemorative deck piloted by Julien Nuijten, who secured the world title that year. These decks were produced by Wizards of the Coast as a way for players to own exact replicas of the high-performance decks used during the tournament.

The design of the Windswept Heath features the evocative artwork of Rob Alexander, a long-time contributor to the game known for his signature landscapes. The card follows the aesthetic of the Onslaught fetch lands, using a muted, natural palette to reflect the untamed, windswept terrain of its namesake. Because these World Championship versions include gold-bordered backs and the player's signature stamped on the front, they serve as a distinct historical record of the 2004 meta-game, celebrating the specific tactical choices made by the world champion.
