Wingshield Agent // Wingshield Agent

Wingshield Agent is part of the New Capenna Art Series, a collection of cards released alongside the Streets of New Capenna expansion for Magic: The Gathering in 2022. This set was designed to showcase the intricate, Art Deco-inspired aesthetic of the plane of New Capenna, a city defined by its cinematic noir themes and rival criminal families. The series features larger-format cards that highlight the illustration without the clutter of standard gameplay text, allowing the work to be appreciated as a standalone piece of art.

The artwork for this card was created by artist Igor Kieryluk, who is known for his atmospheric and character-driven fantasy illustrations. In this piece, he captures the sleek, urban-fantasy visual language of the set, focusing on the refined yet militaristic silhouette of the Wingshield agent. The design was received favorably by collectors who appreciate the marriage of 1920s-style fashion elements with the high-fantasy tropes of the game, solidifying its place as a representative example of the expansion's distinct visual identity.
