Witherbloom Command // Witherbloom Command

Witherbloom Command is part of the Strixhaven Art Series, a specialized sub-set released in 2021 to accompany the Strixhaven: School of Mages expansion for Magic: The Gathering. These cards are essentially art prints on a standard-sized card stock, intended to showcase the detailed illustrations from the set without the gameplay-oriented frames. This specific entry features the art for the Witherbloom Command spell, which represents the green-black college of biology and decay at the school of Strixhaven.

The illustration was created by artist Livia Prima, who utilized a moody, organic aesthetic to capture the essence of the Witherbloom house. The artwork focuses on the contrast between life and decay, reflecting the college's focus on nature and death magic. The Art Series was designed as a collectible for those who appreciate the visual craftsmanship of the game, and it was generally well-received by players and art enthusiasts who sought to display the high-quality depictions of the game's unique planes and factions.
