Worm

The Worm token, bearing the collector number 18, was produced for the Magic: The Gathering Commander 2016 set. This release was notable for introducing four-color legendary creatures and expanding the political multiplayer gameplay mechanics of the Commander format. As a utility item, this token serves to represent a creature created by various spells within the set, specifically those that summon colorless Worms, providing players with a physical visual aid during matches.

The illustration for this token follows the established aesthetic of the Commander 2016 series, which focused on the distinct, often jagged and subterranean visual language of the Jund and Golgari-aligned creature types. The design was crafted to clearly communicate the creature's type and power-toughness status while maintaining a cohesive art style consistent with the wider card collection. Upon release, tokens were well-received by players for their utility in streamlining board state management during complex Commander games.
