Zombie

The Zombie token from the Innistrad Remastered set, identified by collector number 12, was released in 2025 as part of a curated compilation celebrating the gothic horror themes of the original Innistrad block. This token was designed to facilitate gameplay for cards that create Zombie creature tokens, drawing upon the visceral, high-fantasy art direction that defines the plane of Innistrad. The design language emphasizes the desaturated color palettes and macabre aesthetic characteristic of the setting, intended to immerse players in its lore-heavy atmosphere.

The artistic direction for tokens within the Remastered series seeks to bridge the gap between classic card illustrations and modern graphic standards. By integrating iconic visual motifs of the undead—shambling silhouettes and tattered vestments—the illustrators aimed to evoke a sense of creeping dread consistent with the set's graveyard-centric mechanics. While functional in nature, these tokens are treated by the community as collectible components that reflect the enduring popularity of the Innistrad narrative arc within the broader Magic: The Gathering multiverse.
