Albert Odyssey 2: Sword of Light, Blade of Darkness

Albert Odyssey 2: Sword of Light, Blade of Darkness was published in Japan in 1994 as part of the promotional and supplementary materials for the Super Famicom role-playing game of the same name. It represents a common practice during the 16-bit era, where publishers commissioned game-related literature to expand upon the lore, character backstories, and world-building of niche fantasy franchises to deepen player engagement.

The volume was authored by Takebayashi Takeshi, a writer known for his contributions to game novelizations and strategy guides. The design and narrative intent focused on translating the isometric turn-based combat and traditional fantasy themes of the Sunsoft game into a readable format. While the game series was relatively obscure outside of Japan, the book remains a testament to the era's commitment to immersive multimedia world-building, reflecting the art style and tone established by the original game developers.
