Mobile Phone Beast Telefang

Mobile Phone Beast Telefang is a Japanese monster-taming role-playing game released in 2000 for the Game Boy Color, developed by Natsume. It emerged during the height of the monster-collecting craze, distinguishing itself by incorporating mobile phone technology as a core mechanic for summoning creatures. The game was produced in two versions, Power and Speed, featuring a vibrant aesthetic that leveraged the hardware capabilities of the handheld console to offer a distinct, albeit niche, alternative to other popular franchises of the era.

The character designs and manga adaptation were helmed by Kino Kozue, whose work gave the series a recognizable visual identity. While the game gained a cult following due to its unique creature designs and mechanical integration of the then-emerging mobile telecommunications culture, it remained relatively obscure outside of Japan. The title is often remembered by enthusiasts for its technical ingenuity and the specific charm of its late-era Game Boy Color presentation.
