SLASH/DOG is a light novel series authored by Ishibumi Ichiei, best known for his work on the High School DxD franchise. Originally serialized on the author's personal website beginning in 2006, it served as a creative precursor to the mythology and world-building that would later define Ichiei's professional career. The series explores a supernatural landscape rooted in urban fantasy, focusing on the character Ikuse Tobio and his experiences with clandestine organizations and mystical entities.

The character designs and thematic elements of the series were heavily influenced by Ichiei's desire to experiment with darker, more mature narrative tones before transitioning into the light novel industry. While the project was eventually eclipsed in popularity by High School DxD, it maintains a distinct reputation among fans of the author's work as a foundational text.
