Una famiglia di patrioti emiliani: i Giglioli di Brescello; con appendice di 26 lettre inedite di patrioti del tempo

Published in the early 20th century, this volume serves as a biographical and historical study authored by Constance H. D. Giglioli. It chronicles the Giglioli family of Brescello, Italy, highlighting their involvement in the Risorgimento, the 19th-century movement that led to the unification of Italy. By documenting the personal narratives and political contributions of this specific family, the text offers a localized view of the broader nationalist fervor that transformed the Italian peninsula during that era.

The book is particularly noted for its inclusion of an appendix featuring 26 previously unpublished letters written by contemporary patriots. Through these primary source documents, Constance Giglioli intended to preserve the intimate reflections and ideological commitments of those who fought for Italian independence. The work remains a significant contribution to the micro-history of the Emilia-Romagna region, valued primarily by researchers and historians for its archival content and its focus on provincial participation in national revolutionary efforts.
