Edward.Newgate

The Edward Newgate card from The Time of Battle set, designated OP16-003, is a character card from the One Piece Card Game, which was first launched by Bandai in 2022. This particular set was designed to capture the intensity and strategic depth of the series' most legendary conflicts, featuring characters renowned for their immense strength and influence within the narrative. The card honors Edward Newgate, better known as Whitebeard, depicting him as the formidable captain of the Whitebeard Pirates during the peak of his power.

The artistic direction for this card focuses on the imposing, seafaring aesthetic synonymous with Newgate's character design. Like other entries in the OP16 expansion, the card was developed to integrate seamlessly into existing meta-game strategies, emphasizing high-power stats and durability to reflect his status as one of the Four Emperors. Upon its release, it was well-received by players and collectors alike, particularly for its thematic fidelity to the character's reputation as the strongest man in the world.
