Issho

Released in early 2023 as part of the Pillars of Strength [OP03] expansion for the One Piece Card Game, this card depicts the Marine Admiral Issho, also known by his epithet Fujitora. The set was designed to integrate characters from the Dressrosa arc into the game's competitive landscape, offering mechanics that interact with the game's cost-based removal systems. As a character card, Issho is characterized by his high-cost, high-impact ability to manipulate the opponent's board state, reflecting his tactical dominance and gravity-based powers from the source material.

The artwork follows the standardized aesthetic established by Bandai for the One Piece Card Game, emphasizing dynamic poses and high-contrast color palettes that match the tone of the manga. The design was intended to emphasize the gravity and gravitas of the character, utilizing deep purples and muted earth tones consistent with the Marine's traditional attire. Upon its release, it became a staple in Black-color decks, recognized by players for its efficiency in late-game strategies and its ability to penalize opponents for playing cards.
