Provenance

Where it came from

The Issho card, numbered OP05-042, was released in 2023 as part of the Awakening of the New Era set for the One Piece Card Game. This set marked a significant milestone for the game, as it introduced characters from the Wano Country and Dressrosa arcs to coincide with the major anime developments at the time. The card features Issho, also known by his alias Fujitora, the blind Admiral of the Marine Headquarters who possesses the power of the Zushi Zushi no Mi, a Devil Fruit that grants him control over gravity.

The card design captures Issho's calm yet intimidating demeanor, reflecting his role as a moral compass within the Marine hierarchy. In terms of gameplay, this character is highly regarded for his ability to manipulate the cost of opposing cards, reflecting his gravitationally imposing nature. The art direction leans into the bold, high-contrast aesthetic consistent with the set's broader design language, aiming to translate the intensity of the source material into a collectible format that serves both players and fans of the series.
