Provenance

Where it came from

The Issho leader card, numbered OP04-020, was released as part of the 'Kingdoms of Intrigue' [OP04] expansion for the One Piece Card Game in 2023. Designed to represent the powerful Admiral of the Marines, this card reflects the character's unique role within the Dressrosa arc, where his sense of justice often conflicts with the machinations of the World Government. The artwork captures his stoic, blind-swordsman aesthetic, emphasizing his control over gravity through the Zushi Zushi no Mi devil fruit.

The design strategy for this card centers on Issho's ability to manipulate the field, forcing opponents to discard cards and hindering their momentum, which mirrors his strategic dominance in the series. Within the competitive meta, the card was received as a sophisticated control option for players who prefer methodical, resource-denying playstyles. It stands as a significant representation of the Marine faction within the game's evolving card pool.
