Izo

Izo, the former commander of the 16th division of the Whitebeard Pirates, appears in the ONE PIECE CARD THE BEST set as a reprint of his original character card from the Romance Dawn [OP-01] expansion. This set was designed as a commemorative collection, gathering popular and strategically significant cards from the game's initial years to provide players with accessible versions of established staples. The artwork features Izo in his distinct Wano Country attire, emphasizing his identity as a retainer of the Kozuki clan and his background as a former member of the Akazaya Nine.

The card's design prioritizes utility within the One Piece Card Game's meta, functioning as a low-cost, search-capable character that helps players thin their decks and find essential cards. As with many cards in the early sets, the illustration reflects the dynamic, high-energy aesthetic consistent with Eiichiro Oda's original manga style. Upon its initial release and subsequent inclusion in this 'Best' collection, the card was widely received as a reliable utility piece for decks utilizing the Blue color alignment, valued by competitive players for its efficiency and thematic cohesion.
